The Three Days of Easter at St. Teresa
Dear friends,
Happy Easter to you all! May the joy of the Risen Christ accompany you throughout this Jubilee Year, in which we celebrate the Hope that does not disappoint!
In my parish of St. Teresa we had a very intense Triduum, with ceremonies in Chinese and English. Only on Holy Thursday did we have a single Mass of the Lord's Supper celebrated in Chinese and English.
On Good Friday together with the English-speaking community, at midday we celebrated the Way of the Cross all around the church. The choir sang amazingly. In the evening, in the church, we celebrated the Passion of the Lord.
The Easter Vigil for the English community began outside in the courtyard with the new fire and then continued (for two hours!) inside. After the long vigil we met to toast the Risen Christ with a colomba (Dove, Italian Easter cake) and Italian wines!
On Easter Sunday, I had the joy of baptizing three children: Jaylon Roch (10 years old), Colette Carmel (7 years old), Julius (7 years old). These are my first baptisms in this parish! On Easter Vigil and the day after, our parish has baptized 63 adults and 35 children!
And here too, after the mass and the baptisms, we celebrated in our Coffee Corner.
Easter Monday, daily mass in English was at 6:45. And after, breakfast at the Coffee Corner. It wasn’t just the dove and coffee: Peter, a parishioner, also brought dozens of sandwiches with ham and cheese!
On Holy Thursday, I was interviewed by a TVB journalist about the meaning of the washing of the feet. And so I appeared (for the first time!) on television in Hong Kong. I am sending you a series of photos and the link to the video of the interview.
