Christmas 2025 at St Teresa's Church

Hong Kong (BC.it) - The Christmas Crib of this year, at St Teresa’s Church, is inspired by the Jubilee year theme: “Hope that does not disappoint”. Jesus Christ who was born, died and was risen is the Hope that does not disappoint. All other hopes that we cultivate are temporary and withering, leaving in us a deep bitter disappointment.
The Christmas crib landscape shows a cave and a narrow valley with the horizon obscured by the rocks. Only one direction shows us the blue sky and a bright light, where Jesus is born, cared by Mary and Joseph. Jesus is the light of the world and the Church, His family, is the guardian of His light.
This year Jesus is born under a hut made of burned bamboo and green netting. It reminds us that Jesus is born also for the people in Tai Po, for those who died and those who survived of the terrible fire. Jesus’ birth is the sign that Something New is present in our society, that supports our search for justice, for a future and for a brotherly coexistence.
